Dangerous
sudo chmod -R 777 /linux · bash · Intermediate
Grants every user read, write, and execute rights on every file on the system. It destroys the permission model permanently, lets any local account modify system binaries, and most services will refuse to start afterwards.
Signals to notice
- World-writable permissions applied recursively
- Applied from the filesystem root
- Irreversible without a full restore
